Lent It is traditional during Lent to devote some time to study and “extra devotion”. This dates back to the time when Lent was the period for preparation for baptism in the early Church. This year marks the 1700th anniversary of the Council of Nicaea when the process which resulted in the formulation of the Nicene Creed (the creed we say at the Eucharist) began. To mark that we will hold a series of four evenings reflecting on the Creed – these will take place on Monday 31 March and Monday 7 April at the Rectory, 7.30 – 9.00 p.m. There will also be a weekly midweek Eucharist on Tuesday mornings at 10.00 a.m. at Holy Trinity, Crosshaven.
Lenten Appeal During this Lent I would like to suggest that we in the Templebreedy Group hold the Church in the Holy Land in our prayers and most particularly the work of Friends of the Holy Land. Donations can be made up until Easter. Please use the buckets provided in each church – Holy Trinity and Nohoval – to make your donation.
