SCHOOL TWINNING PROJECT

In April 2006 we formally launched a school twinning project between our parish school and St Michael’s School for the Blind in Ranchi, Northern India. This link is part of our development education and commitment of our school and parish to raising our sense of global consciousness and partnership between us and the global south. Our partnership is precisely that: a two way relationship between our two schools and parish where we both have the opportunity to give and to receive. Following a visit by two staff and two pupils to India in April 2006 we were thrilled to welcome two staff and two pupils back to Ireland in March 2008. This human contact has brought our project to life for the children in both schools. Our initial twinning and ongoing support has been generously enhanced by USPG Ireland and the Leprosy Mission. Both organisations have given us invaluable assistance and advice.
